Editorial Policy

Every recommendation on GunAtlas follows the same rules. Here they are, in writing, so you can hold us to them.

Accuracy over authority

We state specifications as manufacturer-reported unless we have verified them independently, and our product pages say so explicitly. Where we haven't lab-tested something ourselves, we say that too — our analysis draws on public specifications and widely reported owner experience, clearly labeled. If a number is uncertain, we present it with its uncertainty rather than rounding to confidence.

Commission never picks the product

Products are chosen for coverage because they are the honest answer to a buyer's question — the established value pick, the category benchmark, the thing we'd tell a friend to buy. Commission rates play no role in what we recommend or how we rank it. Every product page carries a "worth considering" section listing the product's real drawbacks, because a recommendation without tradeoffs is an advertisement.

Prices are data, not urgency

We never invent scarcity, inflate "was" prices, or manufacture countdown pressure. A deal on GunAtlas means a price that is genuinely low against tracked history or a verified list price — and when our data is sample or pre-launch, it is labeled as such on the page.

Scope and safety

We do not cover firearms, ammunition, or firearm components in any form. Our engine enforces this with a category blocklist, and editorial coverage follows the same line. Safety equipment — hearing protection, eye protection, secure storage — is covered with particular care, because those purchases have consequences beyond money.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix the page and note the correction. Report errors to hello@gunatlas.ai — corrections ship within days, not quarters.

How this site is produced

GunAtlas is built and maintained by a small independent team using modern tools, including AI assistance for drafting and engineering, with human review and final say on everything published. The standards above apply regardless of how a page was produced.
